Who Are We?

The Haitian Diabetes Study (HDS) seeks to understand and overcome barriers to self-management activities of type 2 diabetes, especially among Haitian immigrants in the United States. This study uses multiple method approaches to capture a complete picture of self-management activities in the community.

Funded by the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR), the research provides a unique perspective on management of chronic conditions on a traditionally understudied population. Research is conducted at the Boston College William F. Connell School of Nursing.
